I don’t know if I have seen more
interest in the research as a result,
though. All I can say is that people
always find twins interesting. Whenever
I travel, say I’m on a bus or a train or a
plane, and I discuss what I do, everybody
is fascinated. People are fascinated by
twins. I’ve thought a lot about why that
is. I think partly it’s their uniqueness —
most people are singletons. But I also
think, with identical twins in particular,
they challenge our belief in the way the
world works. We grow up thinking that
everyone is unique and looks different.
