Psychological Trauma welcomes new editor
Kathleen Kendall-Tackett, PhD, a clinical associate professor
of pediatrics at Texas Tech University School of Medicine
in Amarillo, will begin her tenure as editor of Psychological
Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice, and Policy, in 2015. As
editor, Kendall-Tackett plans to put more of the journal’s
content online and make it more interactive, with links to
videos and websites. “We have great information available that I
would like to see reach beyond our borders,” she says.

New editor for Cultural Diversity and Ethnic
Minority Psychology
After seven years on the editorial review
board and three years as associate editor,
Richard M. Lee, PhD, became editor of
Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority
Psychology in January. The University of
Minnesota psychology professor aims to
raise the conceptual sophistication and
methodological rigor of the journal’s
research and to broaden its scholarship and readership
internationally by appointing a diverse group of associate
editors, developing special issues on understudied topics and
boosting outreach efforts at national conferences.

Journal of Rural Mental Health welcomes new editor
In January, James L. Werth Jr., PhD, became
the new editor of the Journal of Rural
Mental Health, which he hopes will continue
to promote quality of life among people
living and working in rural areas, in part by
informing policy development. He also aims
to increase the journal’s multidisciplinary
readership and involvement. Werth is
the behavioral health and wellness services director of Stone
Mountain Health Services in Pennington Gap, Va.

New editor for Canadian Journal of Experimental
Psychology
University of Calgary psychology professor Penny Pexman,
PhD, is the new editor of the Canadian Journal of Experimental
Psychology. She plans to continue publishing high-quality
empirical and theoretical work, provide rapid and responsive
peer review, and encourage communication of the journal’s

Roberts is editor of the Canadian Journal
of Behavioural Science
William L. Roberts, PhD, of Thompson
Rivers University in British Columbia,
became editor of the Canadian Journal of
Behavioural Science in January, and has
served on the editorial board since 2000. One
of the areas he’d like to see improved in the
journal, as well as in the field of psychology,
is a greater respect for precision in the reporting of data.

Incoming editors at American Journal of
Orthopsychiatry
In July, Jill McLeigh, PhD, of the University of Colorado
Denver, and William Spaulding, PhD, of the University of
Nebraska–Lincoln, take on the joint editorship of the American
Journal of Orthopsychiatry.
The new editors intend to publish articles on relevant and
engaging issues such as the effects of the Affordable Care Act
and privatization of mental health services. They also aim to
expand the journal’s population focus to include adults with
neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disabilities.
The journal, owned by the American Orthopsychiatric
Association, was published by APA from its 1930 inception to
2009, and then by the publishing company Wiley. 2014 marks
its return to APA.

Asian American Journal of Psychology announces
editor-elect
Bryan S. K. Kim, PhD, director of the
University of Hawai’i at Hilo’s master’s
program in counseling psychology, is editor-elect of the Asian American Journal of
Psychology. Kim, who is also associate editor
of Measurement & Evaluation in Counseling
& Development, hopes to further establish
the journal as the go-to source for Asian
American psychology by publishing high quality research,
theoretical and practice-oriented articles. He will become editor
in January 2015.
