CLINICAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: Florida State University College of Medicine announces an
opening for a clinical assistant professor with expertise in pediatrics.
Experience in child/adolescent obesity and or diabetes is highly desirable. Faculty will be involved in
teaching, clinical service and research. Teaching: 25% of time is
dedicated to teaching medical students and postdoctoral psychology
fellows; Clinical Service: 25% of
time will be providing direct clinical service in the pediatrics clinic;
Research: 50% of time in the first
year will be dedicated to participating in a primary care obesity project with a health informatics technology component which will be
disseminated statewide and create
a statewide data base for future research. After the first year, clinical

care model. The health center includes: pediatrics, family medicine,
adult care, dental, obstetrics/gyne-cology, and behavior health services.

clinic serve as FSUCOM faculty.
Immokalee is a small rural community in southwest Florida and a designated Health Professions Shortage Area. The patient population
is made up primarily of Latino migrant farm workers but also includes
Haitian, African-American and a
rural Caucasian population. Trainees also see patients (urban Latino
underserved) at the Naples primary
care clinics. Immokalee is situated
approximately 30 minutes from Naples and Ft Myers, an area known

will have strong research components, including research planning,
research management, and scholarly analysis and reporting of research
results. Project management experience is desirable, including man-agement/coordination of a research
