psychology by serving on the American Psychological Association of Graduate
Students (APAGS) Committee.
APAGS seeks candidates for its chair-elect; member at large, communications; and
member at large, education. The terms begin in August. The deadline for applications
is Jan. 14, not later than 5 p.m. EST. Applicants must be APAGS members actively
enrolled as graduate psychology students in good standing. For detailed information

Interested in the APA presidency?
Members who would like to be nominated to be APA’s 2015 president are invited
to submit a statement of 50 words or less. The statement will accompany the
online nomination ballot. Please note that statements are optional. The deadline
for potential candidates to submit a statement is Jan. 15, 2013.
The 50-word limit will be strictly enforced. Candidates are also welcome
to speak to the Council of Representatives at its Feb. 22–24 meeting. The
nomination election will be conducted online and will begin Feb. 1, with a 45-day

Apply to attend an APA Advanced Training Institute
APA’s Science Directorate sponsors intensive one-week institutes for advanced
graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty to get in-depth experience
with topics that are often not taught in graduate school. Topics for 2013 include
Structural Equation Modeling in Longitudinal Research, Exploratory Data
Mining, Non-Linear Methods and Research Methods with Diverse Racial and
