ASSISTANT CLINICAL PROFESSOR: Auburn University’s Department of Psychology is seeking candidates for a non-tenure-track, clinical

The clinical professor appointment is
a new position series designed to provide a professional position for qualified individuals who operate primarily under contract with an external
agency and predominantly provide
clinical practice and supervision.
The position will be appointed under
a one-year contract that will be renewed annually based on acceptable
performance and continued funding.
The contract funding for this posi-
tion has been in place for 10 years
and is expected to continue. Start
date for this position is expected to
be August 16, 2013, but flexibility on
the starting date is possible. Minor-
ities and women are encouraged to
apply. The individual in this position
will provide administrative, thera-
peutic, and research services within
a residential treatment program for
juvenile sex offenders. The respon-
sibilities of this position include but
are not limited to: coordinating and
providing clinical services to juve-
nile sex offenders, providing leader-
ship in clinical and program matters,
and assisting with program evaluation
and research conducted at the center.
Full supervisory responsibility for
other employees and students is a major responsibility. This individual will
be involved in training, evaluating,
and making employment decisions for
employees at the facility. In addition,
the individual in this position will
participate in the undergraduate and
graduate programs in the Department
of Psychology. In particular, research
and supervision of doctoral students in the clinical psychology program are expected. A Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from
an accredited clinical or counseling
Ph.D. program (including an internship from an accredited setting), is
required. Previous experience in providing mental health services to children, adolescents and families is also
required. Experience with adolescents
will be strongly weighted. Strong clinical and communication skills are essential for this position. Previous experience working with juvenile sex
offenders will be weighed heavily.

CLINICAL/LECTURER TRACK
FACULTY AT THE UNIVERSITY
OF ALABAMA: The Department of
Psychology at the University of Ala-
bama is hiring an assistant professor
of practice to start August 16, 2013.
This position is contingent upon
availability of funding. Responsibil-
ities include: teaching four courses
per semester and a service commit-
ment to the undergraduate program.
The position is a three-year renew-
able contract with an annual perfor-
mance review. Although individu-
als in such positions (called clinical/
lecture track faculty at the Uni-
versity of Alabama) may not earn
tenure, they are eligible for promo-
tion. Teaching duties will include:
large-enrollment undergraduate
courses, but also may include small
classes and an occasional opportu-
nity to teach a graduate course. The
service commitment involves coor-
dination of some aspects of under-
graduate advising and supervision
of departmental student organiza-
tions. There is no research require-
ment for this position. A Ph.D. in
psychology is required for the posi-

list of innovative teaching prac-
tices), 2) teaching philosophy state-

evidence of teaching effectiveness
