Attend the 2013 National Multicultural
Conference and Summit
Registration is open for the 2013 National Multicultural Conference
and Summit, Jan. 17–18, in Houston, sponsored by Divs. 17
(Society of Counseling Psychology), 35 (Society for the Psychology
of Women), 44 (Society for the Psychological Study of Lesbian,
Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues) and 45 (Society for the
Psychological Study of Ethnic Minority Issues). The featured
keynote speaker will be Joycelyn Elders, MD, former U.S.
Surgeon General. Other speakers will discuss health disparities,
immigration, violence and multicultural competency benchmarks,
among other topics.
The American Psychological Association of Graduate Students
will sponsor opportunities for students to present research,
network and seek mentoring. The organizing divisions will also
honor nine trailblazers in multicultural psychology. Register at

Apply for Div. 2 grants
Div. 2 (Society for the Teaching
of Psychology) is accepting
applications for its 2013
small grants, which support
partnerships across teaching
institutions. Grants can be used
for inter-institutional research
collaborations or for covering
the costs of inter-institutional
meetings. The program is open
to Div. 2 members from four- or
two-year institutions and high
