medication
Div. 50 (Society of Addiction
Psychology) will host the
panel discussion, “Stimulant
Medication, ADHD and
Substance Use Outcomes,” on
Aug. 2, during APA’s Annual
Convention in Orlando, Fla.
Experts from the National
Institute on Alcohol Abuse
and Alcoholism, the National
Institute on Drug Abuse and
representatives from psychology
and psychiatry departments
across the United States will
discuss the controversial issue
of whether the use of stimulant
medication to treat attention-
deficit hyperactivity disorder
increases the risk of substance
abuse in adulthood. The panel
will also host a discussion period
