months) faculty position at the as-
sistant professor level with exper-
tise in the area of infancy and/
or early childhood (i.e., prenatal
through age six, or prior to formal
schooling) studied in diverse con-
texts. The individual who is se-
lected for this position will have a
strong general background with an
appreciation of the organism-envi-
ronment interplay underlying child
development and an active program
of research and demonstrated ex-
cellence in one or more of the fol-
lowing areas: social-emotional de-
velopment, cognitive development,
biological development, risk pre-
vention/intervention, contextual/
ecological influences, and/or eth-
nic and cultural diversity. The suc-
cessful candidate will be expected
to develop and implement his/her
own extramurally funded research
program focused on understand-
ing infancy and early childhood de-
velopment in the context of family,
school, community and/or natural
environments. The ability to devel-
op collaborative research projects
with faculty in community and re-
gional development and environ-
mental design is desirable. The fac-
ulty member will teach undergrad-
